Maj. Gen. Gill Beck, 81st RSC commander, greets family members of the late Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Elmer Heindl during the memorialization of the Armed Forces Reserve Center at Fort Benning, Ga. Heindl was one of the highest decorated chaplains in history, earning the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star and the Bronze Star for numerous heroic actions during his time in the Pacific Theater in World War II.
