The airborne operation was the culminating event of weeklong training hosted by the 478th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), located at Perrine, Florida, U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne).
The USACAPOC(A) week-long training included a Jumpmaster Refresher course, the Army Reserve Airborne Safety Equipment and Evaluation Council, airborne operations at Homestead Air Reserve Base, and the Deliberate Water Jump which involved coordination with several outside agencies including the Coast Guard, and Miami-Dade Police, Fire and Rescue and Parks Department.
