Retired Lt. Col. John Casteel shows off his custom-made tie to Lt. Col. Kelly Church, 203rd Air Refueling Squadron commander, April 30, 2022, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The tie design was inspired by a historic KC-135R Stratotanker. Casteel and his aircrew became the first air-refueling crew to earn the McKay Trophy by performing the 'most meritorious flight of the year' aboard the same aircraft in 1967. The Stratotanker, numbered 60-0329, was inducted into the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force after completing an operation career of more than 60 years.
