PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug 8, 2022) – Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Ryan Dorsey directs crane movement in boat valley, a part of the crane operator’s daily checklist aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), August 8. The knuckle boom crane transports rigid-hull inflatable boats for launching alongside during boat operations. John P. Murtha, part of amphibious squadron (CPR) SEVEN, along with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently underway conducting integrated training in U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
