PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug 15, 2022) – Hospital Corpsman 1st Class John Levasseur (left) with the Ground Combat Element, Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), assesses Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Juan Sic (right) and stretcher bearer team on their medical response techniques during a simulated firefighting drill on the flight deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), August 15. Stretcher bearers are trained to respond to all medical casualties where personnel are injured and rendered immobile. John P. Murtha, part of amphibious squadron (CPR) SEVEN, along with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently underway conducting integrated training in U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
