Solid waste advisor, Brian McCarthy, a Scottish contractor with RTI International, Kirkuk Provincial Reconstruction Team, assesses the oil water separator, sedimentation tank, in lieu of the waste water treatment facility at the transfer station. The station will be a hub for the transfer of city garbage going to landfill being constructed about 10 mile outside the city, Taza, Kirkuk province, Dec. 16, 2007. The landfill and transfer will be the first to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards in Iraq, said McCarthy. Both are scheduled to be operational in February, 2008. U.S. Army Soldiers from Delta Company, 2nd Brigade, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 10 Mountain Division, escort McCarthy and conduct security during his assessment. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Staff Sgt.
