U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force World Class Athlete Program’s 1st Lt. Jaci Smith warms up during her 10,000 meters and marathon training in preparation to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris. Before becoming a WCAP athlete, Smith managed a full workload as a nuclear surety engineer while running more than 90 miles per week with the goal of qualifying for future Olympic and World Championship-level events. Established in 1995, Air Force WCAP, managed by the Air Force Services Center, continues the legacy of Tuskegee Airman Malvin G. Whitfield.
