A soldier with 3rd Battalion, Royal Bruneian Landing Force acts as the point of his patrol formation while conducting immediate action drills to respond to contact. Marines with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment have been working closely with the Bruneian soldiers to learn from one another, bolster cohesion between the militaries, and hone their urban combat skills as a part of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei and Timor Leste.
