Corporal Mark Washburn, a squad leader with company A, 1st Battalion, 3d Marines, advises soldiers with 3rd Battalion, Royal Bruneian Landing Force how best to maneuver in buddy pairs while bounding in urban terrain here. "I want to leave these guys with a good impression," said Washburn. "I’d like to know they’ll remember us as much as we’ll remember them.” Washburn and other members of 1/3 have been conducting military training in urban terrain with Bruneian Soldiers as part of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei and Timor Leste.
