USAID Mission Director Elise Jensen’s visit to the IKR continues. She went to Salwan Farm in Erbil, where she learned about the farm’s different grape varieties - including unique seedless grapes - and witnessed first-hand the positive impact of USAID support.
USAID helped Salwan’s farm through Top Mountain to adopt modern irrigation techniques and install a solar power system that is expected to reduce the farm’s energy costs by nearly 70%. Additionally, with USAID-delivered machinery, Salwan’s farm has doubled its production and profits! USAID will continue to support the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region and across the country.
