Through a partnership between USAID and the Agricultural Directorate, farmers in Iraq can now renew land rental contracts in just 15 days, halving the cost and drastically reducing the red tape. Sabraya Jasam, a farmer from al-Sewara, and Hadi Hasan from al-Azizyah district have already benefited from these reforms, renewing their contracts without the previous necessity of long, costly journeys to the capital. This is a result of USAID’s IGPA/Takamul Project working with the Iraqi government to streamline public service delivery by simplifying bureaucratic processes.
