At the age of 24, Isen has embarked on an extraordinary journey, transforming his family's apiary into a thriving business that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation.
As a Christian living in Karamles, Isen and his family were forced to leave during the ISIS occupation. Isen returned home in 2017 with a determination to rebuild his beekeeping business. With support from the USAID-funded Shared Future project, Isen received training in entrepreneurship and valuable business skills. Recognizing his efforts, USAID awarded Isen a startup grant, enabling him to expand his apiaries and double his honey production.
