U.S. Air Force pilot Maj. Andre “Guns” Golson carefully climbs out of his F-16C Fighting Falcon upon his arrival at Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu in California on Jan. 26 to participate in the first iteration of Bamboo Eagle, a live-fly exercise conducted by the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center. A member of the 510th Fighter Squadron, Golson is stationed at Aviano Air Base in Italy. He and about a dozen other F-16 pilots from Aviano played the role of Blue Force friendly aviators in the exercise that included over 150 aircraft operating from more than 10 locations on the West Coast. Blue Force pilots tested their skills against Red Force adversaries over the Pacific Ocean during the weeklong exercise. (U.S. Navy photo by Eric Parsons/Released)
