Dawn Ford, representing Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, was presented with the Military Health System 2023 Department of Defense Advancement Toward High Reliability in Healthcare Award for culture of safety, by Dr. Lester Martinez-Lopez, assistant secretary of defense for health affairs; U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland, DHA director; and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Tanya Y. Johnson, senior enlisted leader for the DHA. Ford and her team won for their performance improvement project titled “Reduction of Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries.” The awards were presented on Feb. 15 in National Harbor, Maryland.
