Peruvian Coast Guard Teniente Primero (First Lieutenant) Roy Vegas, right, and U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Nico Muzo, District 11 command duty officer, hold a self-locating datum marker buoy (SLDMB) aboard B.A.P. Rio Pativilca, Peruvian Coast Guard maritime patrol vessel, as part of exercise Resolute Sentinel 2024 west of Ancón, Peru, May 31, 2024. The USCG brought the SLDMB to show the PCG how they use it to track real-time current patterns to narrow down a search and rescue point of interest. This combined, joint force exercise focuses on building strong partnerships with partner-nation militaries so the nations are always ready to work together, whatever challenges they may face.
