Sanford City Commissioner Mark McCarty speaks in Sanford, Florida during a memorialization ceremony renaming an Army Reserve center in honor of the late Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn C. Cashe, on July 19. Cashe died from injuries sustained when he was rescuing fellow troops from a burning vehicle while he himself was on fire. He has been recommended for the Medal of Honor.
