Col. Gary M. Brito, TRADOC director of Force 2025, speaks at a memorialization ceremony in Sanford, Fla., where the Army Reserve Center was renamed in memory of Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn C. Cashe, a Silver Star recipient from Oviedo who died Nov. 8, 2005, after heroically rescuing his fellow Soldiers from a burning Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Cashe is currently being recommended for the Medal of Honor. Brito was his battalion commander during the Iraq tour and initially made the Silver Star and subsequent Medal of Honor recommendations.
