4th Squadron 14th U.S. Cavalry A Troop poses for a group photograph before they leave for Rawah. A Troop has been at Forward Operating Base Courage since July of 2004 conducting reconnaissance missions on the outskirts of Mosul, Iraq. "Our major mission here was to create relationships with the Iraqi Army, the Iraqi Police, and the citizens of Iraq. I believe we did a great job, some tears were shed on our departure, but we will continue the success in Rawah," said 1st Sgt. Roy Stoehr, first sergeant 4-14 Cav. A Troop is motivated to move to Rawah, but the toughest hurdle will be the transition from living in a "bombed out palace" at FOB Courage to living in the "Moon Dust" sands of Rawah, said Stoehr.
