The Soldiers of Blue Platoon, Company A, Task Force 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, set up for counter-mortar operations during Operation Crossroads outside the city of Mamudiyah in North Babil Jan. 3. Blue Platoon is a group of tankers without tanks. Instead of tanking, they patrol the streets and cities of Iraq in humvees. Company A is a tank company that was swapped for a 1-5 Cav infantry company with Task Force 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry, so each task force could share their infantry and tank assets.
