U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Angela Ingalls, hospital corpsman, emergency medical facility X-ray technician, takes X-rays of "Don," April 24. Don, a military working dog assigned to the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, was X-rayed in an attempt to uncover the cause of a upper respiratory problem. Don and his handler are assigned to Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, and used for explosive, narcotic detection as well as security patrols. The service members of CJTF-HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention, the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk in order to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
