In this work from the U.S. Coast Guard Art Program 2015 Collection, “Vertical Surface Training,” ID# 201503, a rescue swimmer is being lowered by the flight mechanic of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter flying along the Oregon coast. Advanced Helicopter Rescue School instructors train rescue swimmers and aircrews to conduct rescues in the surf off coastal shores, on the high seas of the open ocean, and along cliffs and caves found on Oregon’s coast.
