In this work from the U.S. Coast Guard Art Program 2015 Collection, “Training for all Hazards,” ID# 201525, Coast Guard crewmembers aboard the USCGC Aspen (WLB 208), a 225-foot buoy tender home ported at Yerba Buena Island, conduct training with members from the National Strike Force Pacific Strike Team stationed in Novato, California, on the cutter's spilled oil recovery system equipment on the San Francisco Bay. The Aspen and other buoy tenders are required to keep this equipment on board in the event of a marine hazardous material spill. (U.S. Coast Guard Art Program work by Leendert van der Pool)
