ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 17, 2015) Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Maxwell Brennick, from the “Blackjacks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21, instructs Capt. Brian J. Quin how to use the communication system aboard an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter. Quin relieved Capt. Pete M. Mantz as the new commanding officer of Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during an aerial lead change. Essex is the flagship of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
