Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator Edward Byers, Jr., and Robert Modrzejewski, both Medal of Honor recipients, attended a keel laying ceremony at the Nassco shipyard in San Diego, Aug. 2. The ceremony honored Hershel Woodrow “Woody” Williams, who had a U.S. Navy ship named after him. His daughters, Travie and Tracie Ross, welded their initials onto the keel of the ship named after their father.
