Marines with Company E, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, fast-rope from a CH-53E Super Stallion to the flight deck of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 16, 2016. The Marines of BLT 2/4 participated in fast rope training as a part of the 31st MEU's annual fall patrol of the Pacific. As the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward deployed unit, the 31st MEU is prepared to respond to a wide range of military operations, from humanitarian assistance missions to limited combat operations, at a moment’s notice.
