ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 7, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Michael Nolan, assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS San Jacinto (CG 56), scans the water for surface contacts during a replenishment-at-sea with the fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AOE 8). Nolan serves as a quartermaster on San Jacinto and is responsible for the safe navigation of the ship. San Jacinto, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
