A CH-53E Super Stallion loaded with relief supplies from the United States Agency for International Development departs from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Oct 16, 2016. The Marines and sailors with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Iwo Jima have been providing assistance to the U.S. government’s civil humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts in Haiti in wake of Hurricane Matthew. The 24th MEU is committed to remaining the nation’s premier rapid crisis response force, providing the U.S. precious time in the wake of a disaster, to coordinate a full-scale civil response.
