ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 30, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Kennedy Ogonda, from Nairobi, Kenya, cleans padeyes in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Ogonda serves aboard Ike as aviation boatswain’s mate (handling) and is responsible for moving and securing aircraft and overall cleanliness of the hangar bay. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
