U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Robert M. Barnhart Jr. addresses U.S. and Japanese service members gathered at Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 30, 2016, to rehearse Yama Sakura 71, an upcoming joint, bilateral command post exercise between the two nations. During YS 71, U.S. Marines and Sailors from the 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade and Japan Ground Self Defense Force's Western Army will focus their efforts on bilateral planning, coordination, and interoperability to support the U.S.-Japan security alliance for continued peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
