Ken Iverson during Navy Medicine East’s change of command and his retirement ceremony Dec. 2. Vice Adm. Forrest Faison, Navy surgeon general and chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery honored Iverson with the Legion of Merit award for outstanding service. NME is one of two regional commands that manage Navy Medicine's global health care network by overseeing the delivery of medical, dental and other health care services to approximately one million patients across almost 100 facilities.
