170930-N-AC254-473 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 30, 2017) Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Rose Fennell, a native of Grants, New Mexico, assigned to the supply department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), inventories supplies in the hangar bay during a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the Henry J. Kaiser-class underway replenishment oiler USNS Patuxent (T-AO 201). America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
