Australian Defence Force UH-60 Black Hawk sets in a field of rats tail weeds at Shoalwater Bay Training Area during Talisman Sabre 2011. Seeds of undesirable plants, like the rats tail dislodged by the helicopter then picked up by vehicles transiting through SWBTA, are removed using the weeds and seeds wash program. A strict ‘weed and seed’ bio-security management system is being implemented for all vehicles entering the Shoalwater Bay training area. Talisman Sabre 2011 is an exercise designed to train U.S. and Australian forces to plan and conduct Combined Task Force operations to improve combat readiness and interoperability on a variety of missions from conventional conflict to peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance efforts.
