Australia Defence Force Lance Cpl. Matthew Vayro, from Brisbane, Queensland, with the 21st Construction Squadron, Engineer Support, hoses dirt and grease off the under carriage of the trailer carrying heavy equipment from Shoalwater Bay Training Area during Talisman Sabre 2011. A strict ‘weed and seed’ bio-security management system is being implemented for all vehicles entering the Shoalwater Bay training area. The washing process prevents seeds of undesirable plants from spreading and harming other environments. Talisman Sabre 2011 is an exercise designed to train U.S. and Australian forces to plan and conduct Combined Task Force operations to improve combat readiness and interoperability on a variety of missions from conventional conflict to peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance efforts.
