The ship anchored in the mouth of Hampton Roads to off-load its small boats before heading into Naval Station Norfolk. Ponce is returning to Naval Station Norfolk for the final time after completing its last week at sea. After 40 years of service Ponce's crew is beginning the ship's decommissioning process, set for 2012.
