Chief Boatswain's Mate Robert Battles heaves the last mooring line over the side of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Ponce as the ship ties up at Pier 2 at Naval Station Norfolk. Ponce is returning to its homeport for the final time after completing its last week at sea. After 40 years of service Ponce's crew is beginning the long process that will result in the ship's decommissioning in 2012.
