ŚWIĘTOSZÓW, Poland (Feb. 5, 2019) - Vincent “B.J.” Lawrence, the Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., Lt. Col. Brian Gilbert and Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Kohunsky, the command team of the 1st Squadron, 4th U.S. Cavalry Regiment out of Fort Riley, Kan., and Dave Spilva, senior writer for VFW Magazine, tour the grounds of the Polish Army post at Świętoszów where the 1-4 Cavalry is currently housed while mobilized to Poland. As commander of the VFW, Lawrence personally visited the soldiers of the 1-4 Cavalry while mobilized in an effort to better understand the training environment and living conditions of the troops stationed overseas in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
