JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 9, 2019) – Hospitalman Faramarz Hassanpour, a laboratory technician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, loads a centrifuge. Hassanpour, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, says, “I chose to join the Navy to better my life. At my first duty station, I worked in a lab environment which helped me decide to be a laboratory technician. I learn something new every day and you really learn more about the human body and diseases, rather than just about being a general duty corpsman.” Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 21- 27, celebrates clinical laboratory professionals who play a vital role (as part of the health care team) in the diagnosis and prevention of disease.
