JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 18, 2019) – Sharon Wesley (center), patient safety specialist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, discusses positive patient safety outcomes with quality management team members. Wesley, a native of San Diego, California, says, “I have been the patient safety specialist here at Naval Hospital Jacksonville for 17 years. Patient safety to me is continuing to doing my part by encouraging others to use safe practices, and ensuring our patients that NH Jax practices safe patient care. I enjoy interacting with staff, and picking up valuable knowledge. Patient safety first!” April 30 marks the 2nd birthday of Navy Medicine’s Civilian Corps. The Civilian Corps joined the Medical, Dental, Medical Service, Nurse, and Hospital Corps as a means to support career and leadership development for Navy Medicine’s civilian team.
