JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 22, 2019) – Hospitalman Arthur Frazier gives vaccines to an infant at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Immunizations Clinic. Frazier, a native of New Braunfels, Texas, says, “Children need vaccines, starting in infancy, to protect them from easily preventable diseases that can have serious and potentially fatal complications." National Infant Immunization Week, April 27 - May 4, celebrates vaccines, which have drastically reduced infant death and disability in the U.S. Vaccines help strengthen babies’ immune systems and keep them safe from 14 vaccine-preventable diseases before age 2. April is also the Month of the Military Child. (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
