Staff Sgt. Omar Ciro rigs a rucksack for an airborne operation during the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division's Jumpmaster of the Year Competition, March 28. The winners of the battalion-level competitions contended for the Brigade title. Each participant was tested on their performance of jumpmaster duties, including rigging of equipment, practical work inside the aircraft, giving a sustained airborne training brief and personnel inspections. Ciro is a squad leader assigned to A Company, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team. He is a native of Queens, N.Y.
