Spc. Julian Batz, a cavalry scout with Nevada Army National Guard's K Troop, 1st Squadron, 221st Cavalry Regiment, pulls a dummy through a sandpit during the obstacle course event in the 2012 Region VII Best Warrior Competition at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 25. Batz dragged the roughly 140-pound dummy through wet sand caused from a rain earlier in the morning, adding to the difficulty of the task. The obstacle course event also contained maneuvering through a 10-foot high cross weave platform, climbing up a 20-foot long rope, and several other challenges.
