Sgt. Robert McFatridge, a cannon crew member with Hawaii Army National Guard's Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery, sizes up the task of climbing up a 20-foot long rope during the obstacle course event in the 2012 Region VII Best Warrior Competition at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 25. Scaling the rope was the second to last task McFatridge had to complete in the obstacle course, this after pulling a dummy through a wet sandpit, maneuvering through a 10-foot high cross weave platform, and several other challenges to test competitors on all levels.
