Timothy Liners, a combat engineer with 7th Engineer Support Battalion signals to the tractor operator to stop pushing forward as 7th ESB conducts a training exercise at Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 10. The 7th ESB Marines are building a medium girder bridge for their battalion field exercise. “It’s going to supply infantry men and possibly save their lives,” said Timothy Liners, the bridge platoon sergeant, who was speaking in character as if the training exercise was an actual scenario in combat.
