    I Marine Expeditionary Force

    Lance Cpl. Jeff Collins, a combat engineer with 7th Engineer Support Battalion jumps off the light-launching node section of a medium girder bridge under construction with a metal detector, at Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 10. Collin’s responsibility is to sweep the area for landmines and improvised explosive devices to ensure the safety of follow-on forces and prevent damage to the bridge. He will also clear the area of obstacles such as vegetation once the initial sweeping process is complete.
