Cpl. Donald Peterson, a combat engineer with 7th Engineer Support Battalion, lifts one end of a segment to the medium girder bridge they are building for a training exercise at Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 10. The training exercise provides Marines with expertise in quick bridge building for future deployments. The bridge can be used to move troops quickly from one under-developed area to another or make an alternate route to avoid ambushes or improvised explosive devices.
