Two Marines from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (special operations capable) (13th MEU(SOC)) man the turrets in their amphibious assault vehicle as they await their turn to "swim" out to the USS Rushmore, anchored off the coast of Kuwait, Sept. 26. The personnel and AAVs of the 13th MEU(SOC) are returning home to Camp Pendleton, Calif., after their deployment to Al Anbar province, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
