A landing craft (air cushioned) hits the surf on its way to the USS Rushmore, anchored off the coast of Kuwait, Sept. 26. The LCAC is loaded with equipment and Marines from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (special operations capable) (13th MEU(SOC)) returning home to Camp Pendleton, Calif., after their deployment to Al Anbar province, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
