ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 24, 2020) – U.S. Navy Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Marvin Moralesmancia, center, shoots a shot line while 2nd Class Jesus Antillon, right, holds the spool aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8). San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
