ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 24, 2020) –U.S. Navy Seaman Danny Morenogarces and Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Dorian Reyes, a supply administrator with Combat Cargo assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) slack off the phone-and-distance line aboard the ship during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8). San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, and the 15th MEU are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
