Lacrosse is a fast paced game with players running from one end of the field to another in trying to score goals. Lacrosse is a contact sport where players collide and check each other trying to gain possession of the ball. Standard equipment is a helmet, elbow pads and protective gloves. Goalies can wear a chest protector. Lacrosse rules follow similar rules and jargon as hockey. A team is comprised of 10 players; 1 goalie, 3 defensemen, 3 mid-fielders and 3 attack-men. Each team must keep at least 4 players, including goalie, in its defensive half of the field and 3 players in its offensive zone. The 3 mid-fielders are free to roam entire field. The game has four quarters, plus a halftime.
Idaho Army National Guard soldiers pursue a variety of off-duty recreational interests. In the Gem State, in and around the Boise region, Idaho soldiers take advantage of hunting, fishing, hiking and a wide range of community activities.
